Instead of manually entering employee information in Xero, you can now request new employees and contractors to complete a form. Once they’ve submitted the form, you just need to review and approve the details to create a new employee record.
When you make the request, you set a due date and specify a contact person the employee can get help from.
As part of completing the form, the employee creates a Xero user account. This ensures the sensitive information they provide remains secure and protected. They can use this account to access Xero Me if you invite them using the same email address.
Once the employee has submitted the form, they can’t change any of the information. However, they can use Xero Me to access and update their employee record once you’ve approved the request and invited them to use Xero Me.
Documents can’t be attached to the form. Note that the superannuation section meets the ATO’s requirements for digital superannuation nomination. This means the employee doesn’t need to provide you with a paper form.
